Warmer air has infiltrated out developing Nor’easter at higher levels. We are now experiencing heavy wind driven sleet in southeastern Pennsylvania.
How can Sky’s sensors plan on handling heavy sleet for precip totals and possibly artificially impacting wind measurement?
SKY can identify sleet & hail but we are still working on accounting for it. Precip totals will definitely be affected (upwards) by sleet. Wind readings will be fine as long as ice doesn’t build up in the wind sampling area (wind gap).
