Will not respond to reset button push (held in up to a minute!).
Checked with different power supply.

A red led on the hub means it can’t connect to wifi. You might repair it to your wifi network (a reset erases the settings)

In the app → settings → stations → wifi and launch the procedure or manually set it via that submenu

The light stays red regardless of what is done. Even the reset hole has no effect whatsoever.

Yes.
Have had to reset before and that works.
Hub is absolutely bricked. Opened a ticket requesting replacement but haven’t heard back.

I’m seeing the same behavior with a brand new Tempest 26 hub. Hub had been working fine for about a week with a Tempest. I tried to pair an old Air with it, and it lost its BLE connectivity. Status light solid red. Three blinks on the wifi light when activating the reset. BLE light never comes on.

BT is enabled on iPhone 17, Tempest app granted BT access and location sharing, phone has been power cycled, Tempest app reinstalled.

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

As far as I know, the latest generation Hubs have removed support for the legacy Air/Sky devices.

@eric - Do you know if anyone has tested what happens if someone tries to add an Air/Sky to a new Hub, specifically to see if the process fails in a way that bricks the Hub???

Latest hubs don’t support Air nor Sky today. It pairs but no data comes true. That’s what I know from our tech folks. There is nothing to stream it in actual firmware. Also according tech folks, turning off Air should solve your case.

Have you tried to [reset the hub](https://help.tempest.earth/hc/en-us/articles/360050786593-Troubleshooting-Guide-Setup-WiFi-Hub-Tempest-Device) in case above doesn’t want to work ? And last resort is open a [support ticket](https://help.tempest.earth/hc/en-us/requests/new).

Yep, Air isn’t on; hasn’t been on since the first attempt. Hub has been reset many times. I’ve filed a ticket.

I’m surprised that the factory reset doesn’t bring it back to life. It causes the wifi light to blink green 3 times, and then the status light comes on solid red, but bluetooth can’t connect.

Thanks for your help!

Try using an Android device to get the hub working. I’ve had to do this on one of the original hubs. Once it was back up and running, I could then use an iOS device.

Thanks for the tip. Working with Wxflow support, I was able to get the hub working again.

The fix was for me to delete the station definition in the app. This seems really odd, because the app said that the hub was not connected (no wifi and no BT), and so how did the hub know that the station definition had been deleted? In any event, it was a simple workaround, once I knew the trick.

I should have tried that from the get-go, but I was believing what the app said. Silly me 🙂 .

Mine (older style white hub) went offline Thursday. Tried power on reset, no luck. Reset my wifi, phone, deleted and readded app. Zero luck. Deleted station from app now when i go to add it i can see it as available in the app but get a message “this hub is connected to another account please log into that account to view it”. Ugh. Emailed support monday morning, radio silence. Any suggestions?

Update I was able to delete and re add the station but it wont (in the app) show any wifi ssids when i go to connect it. Manual method fails too. Any ideas?

I have a brand new replacement system, and the hub light is steady red, does not show up in the app, or in the iOS Bluetooth list. I also get three green blinks when I try to reset, then steady red.

I am frustrated by email support. It takes days to get a response. I have gone through all the troubleshooting steps in the recommended order.

Is there supposed to be a blue light when it is ready to connect? I haven’t seen any blue light.

My eero router defaults to 5 gHz. To add the Tempest, I have to go to the eero app, troubleshooting, and pause 5 gHz. Tempest still does not list it, so I have to type in the ssid. It’s long, and I mistyped it several times.

I used the app, and tried to follow the instructions for replacing the old one. No one told me about the plus sign, and the need to install the new one first. The next big problem was not seeing the router. The router had to have 5gHz disabled. The Tempest app still didn’t see it. Then it took several tries to manually type in the SSID and password.

Now I’m waiting for instructions to copy the data from the old one. None of the online instructions have been helpful so far.

Me, too. I tried the reset button, plugging/unplugging the hub, turning the Tempest on/off, adding wi-fi again. Any ideas?

I contacted Tempest support via email. I received a response the next day. The rep provided the following: “The red LED light just means the Hub is disconnected from the network. To get it reconnected, you’ll need to open the app and go to:
Settings \> stations \> select your station \> wifi setup \> next or manual setup.” I tried this twice and it failed both times. “Error connecting to your WiFi Network. Error Code: 326-07.” Just for grins, I clicked on the “Next” button at the bottom of the page. I received the following: “WiFi Connected. Successfully connected to WiFi.” Weird!!! The app said I failed, but the next app screen said I was successful. But my red light changed to green, and I’m back in business.

**Solved: Hub power supply seems to go bad. Used an old Apple one (5v, 1amp), hub came right back online.**

Oof, so annoying… Tempest + Hub working fine for a year or so, then dreaded Red light on hub. Did all the troubleshooting steps provided multiple times. Deleted app. Burned incense. Nada. Red light turns blue or green for a few seconds, then back to red.
