# Is 'precip accumulated' reset periodically?

For the ‘obs\_st’ messages from the Tempest, is the ‘Precip Accumulated’ counter reset periodically? Or is it just a total of the rain over the last reporting period? I haven’t had any rain here yet to check.

It is the total over the reporting period. You can see more info about the reporting periods here. It is for Air and Sky, but it is the same for Tempest.
