# UDP Accumulated Rain Field 11 = Null?

My understanding of UDP rain is that they mapped the same message field for both the UDP and the Server data. Rain is server based, and not shown on the UDP message, which is why you get the null values. I was told to use the Rest API, with the API Key shown. It is pretty simple to use, I had it up and running in a Postman query in about 10 minutes.

There are some elements that will not return data, although the elements are in both APIs for consistency. Accumulated rain is one of those. It’s calculated on the WF server side, so it’s not in the raw UDP broadcast.
