Adjust Daily Rainfall Start/End Time

Asking for rain to reset at 9am each day not 12am… or make it customisable for each user… in australia our rain standard is 9am each day. Currently i cannot compare my readings as they are always going to be different to all other Australian stations that use the “till 9am” standard … ie rain till 9am …a simple request but seems it cant be delivered…i dont agree eith tge voting system because noone much surfs the forums.

I thing devs should decide themselves and try and honor all requests because hey they are all good ideas the lot of them and they all would make a better outcome for tempest users.

So how bout it guys ? Hop to it yea ?

Hi Mark,
Are you suggesting that you require a different feature request to this one

And are you not voting on your own request because you have run out of votes or is it because you disagree with the voting system?
I have hesitated combining your request into the “Adjust Daily Rainfall Start/End Time” due to your extra comments.
However if you do want the request that you are proposing then it would help if you do vote for it because Weatherflow staff do notice the votes.
Although I expect your request may be absorbed into the referred to request because it would provide the solution that you appear to be requesting and combining everyones votes helps to prioritise the request to Weatherflow staff.
cheers Ian

Yep thats the same topic request so combining them would be great… oll vote on both topics if it help.

I have voted on the other topic you refrenced , maybe we can combine mine with theirs, or delete mine and count my vote on theirs…
Would be nice to have that capacity,as well as indoor temperature and humidy etc id buy a small indoor unit if it was available… it should have been intergrated in base station … thanks heaps mark

I combined your post here. It should have freed up one of your votes on your original topic.

Another Oz user here, being able to change the rain reset time would be really useful. Oz is 9:00AM, I imagine other countries have varying times also.

Ditto for the UK, as per this non technical intro page:

“Since the earliest years of weather records, the de facto standard for the measurement of daily rainfall has been the 0900 UTC reading made by an observer from a 5 inch storage rain-gauge.”

Australia is still in th stone age now that all weather station are automatic.

Well temperatures are generally to 3pm, for a few reasons. Apart from having to get people to physically inspect and record analog measurements (in time to collate and forward to newsrooms), the time should be clear as to which day’s maximum and which night’s minimum is recorded. Changing at midnight leaves it ambiguous and variable which night’s minimum is noted.
As for rain, maybe you have a point, but 9am is the standard in Australia, and there are significant areas that don’t have online measurement.
Surely it’s not hard to do… then again the graphs in tempestwx aren’t the best UX and that hasn’t changed in years.

I would also like to use this as a backup for my CoCoRaHS reports.
