For those of you who originally participated in the Kickstarter program. . .way back in 2020 for the Tempest Weather System with the Remote Cellular Hub . . . . . .
Thanks to our KickStarter and Indiegogo backers for making this product possible! Your pledge items will be prioritized for fulfilment and will ship before pre-orders.
Its a very nice system but extremely expensive.
At this point they should give all the kickstarter backers a free system and refund their moneyâŚ
WeatherFlow-Tempest made multiple offers to backers of bundles that included this Hub, including full refunds, downgrading their purchase to a regular Tempest with a partial refund, and shipping out a non-cellular Tempest with a raincheck (not to be confused with rain check) on the Cellular Hub when it becomes available. At one point, I even seem to recall them sending out $50 gift cards for the few crazy people like me who didnât take them up on their other generous offers and are willing to wait no matter how longâŚ
I just received a cellular hub today. It came with no instructions and I canât even remember what itâs used for. I thought I was to receive a âRemote Cellular and Storm & Fire Systemâ. I was under the impression this was to be solar powered . Iâm confused at this point.
Thanks for that info as I was having a hard time finding it. I see no battery backup on this Pro Hub, unless itâs an internal and non-replaceable rechargeable. Gee whiz youâd think theyâd send you some instructions with it.
For some reason, I recall that WF shipped the battery backup components out to all supporters of the Storm & Fire bundle but maybe Iâm mistaken.
Was there a quick-start card of some sort in the kit that instructs customers to download the Tempest app and use it to configure the Hub and station? Most of their instructions these days are in the app, so there isnât a need for a larger printed documentâŚ
nada⌠no quick start guide, nothin the app that I see
The battery backup was sent out long ago. It is basically just a portable power bank with pass-through charging so it can act like a UPS system. Mine is a 10,000mAh battery with a white case.
Aha⌠yes I received that long ago. Thanks for the heads-up!
