New to the group, so please be gentle. Tempest arrived today, and as expected, internal battery has no charge.
Is there any other way that leaving outside, in the little sunny have (even less for me as I am in Edinburgh) to charge the unit?

Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately you can only charge it in the sun unless you have the power booster accessory: https://shop.tempest.earth/collections/accessories/products/power-booster-accessory-1
I’m based down south from you in Cambridge and find the power booster essential between October and March ish, so you might want to consider it!
Just note that you have to have the Tempest switched on to charge it. You can charge it by hand if you have the patience. You’ll need a branch powersupply and a couple leads and some time.

I worked that out, but always like a challenge so have rigged up a way of charging off a power block used to top up your electronic devices.
Basically I had attached a usb cable to the cables coming off the solar cell and then plugged into the power block.
45 mins and it’s charged and working.
Saved £40 on the power booster.
