Whatever works for you. That said, if the hub is too far away it will have difficulties hearing the Tempest.

Hi Katman,
The hub can be beside the Tempest and beside the wifi. They can all be together. But usually the Tempest is outside and the hub and wifi are inside.
Usually the question asked is how far away can the Tempest be from the hub or how far away the hub can be from the wifi.
If there are no walls between the hub and the Tempest the maximum distance is less than 500 meters. But ideally the Tempest will be less than 200m from the hub and less than 100m depending on any walls in the way. You can read the strength of the signal of the Tempest and also of the hub to wifi in the app or Web page of your station to work out how well your distance is working and possibly change the position and angle of the hub to help. There are threads which discuss issues of poor connection. Use the magnifying glass search to find others problems and solutions.
