IFTTT Smart Weather Applet

I see you have two stations on your account. The “Crossland-MS” station is indeed online and reporting and it looks like it’s still configured with IFTTT.

The current brightness should be triggering this applet to run.
I’d suggest first disabling and re-enabling the applet to see if that resolves the problem.

A long time ago there was an issue with a different IFTTT applet writing to google sheets discussed here:

It caused me to stop using that method of data capture.

Seems that is what is happening here. IfTTT is not working in my situation. This evening it did not trigger my light to turn off once the brightness got to below 6500 brightness. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the applet which didnt fix the issue. Any other ideas?

So i tried swapping out the smart plug with 2 other separate branded smart plugs, recreating the ifttt applet and it still didnt work. Not sure what else to try.

To rule out the smart plugs, build an applet that triggers with a button so that you know it’s being triggered, and see if the plug switches then. That way you’ll have an idea if if’s the plug or the WF side of things that’s the issue. I guess another thing you could do would be to do something else when trigger; send an email, send you a notification, write to a google sheet, etc. If you have IFTTT Pro, you can have multiple THEN action, so you could do a bunch of them.

So I think WF is broken when it comes to IFTTT. I created a button applet to test that ifttt and the smart plug are actually working and it does indeed work. However, when i added multiple that’s to the WF applet, none of them triggered. See screenshots.

I do know that WF is supposed to update their ifttt channels for the Tempest. Not sure when that will happen though. Maybe @WFstaff can comment on this.

So I checked ifttt today and noticed there were several attempts of the trigger running but they fail. Not sure how to read it. If tempest is what is failing or if the trigger of smart life turning on is failing. It seems ifttt is recognizing that the tempest is hitting the trigger threshold that I set, causing it to run but fail, but the failure message is on the tempest trigger.

I’d open a ticket with IFTTT. I think they can look and see what the actual error is.

Per me sarebbe perfetto e vi sarei davvero grato!!

Grazie

I’m running the Log Tempest Data to Google Sheets on IFTTT. Since some weeks I’m missing a lot of data. It’s seems that the applet stopped collecting data between 00:00 and 00:45 hr. It does that every day. There is really a gap of 45 minutes every day in de log on IFTTT.

I already setup everything again but that didn’t work. Does anyone recognize this beheavior or lnows a solution to fix it?

Is it possible to change the logging form every minute or so to every 30 minutes? I dont really need a 2000 rows of one minute data. Thanks

If you check that your readings are working on the web page between those times then I dont know. But if your hub looses connection to weatherflow during that time for any reason then you will not see the live readings at that time. If the problem such as a wifi or power issue resolves itself at 00:45 every day then the readings will backfill. But the ifttt readings will be lost because they do not back fill.

As far as I can see there are no issues with wifi or the hub. Data in my weewx -db are complete and also wunderground looks okay so I suspect it’s something on the IFTTT/Google Sheets-side which causes this.

Looks like the issue resolved itself. I had an outage in IFTTT end of september for several days. After IFTT restarted I don’t see missing times anymore.

Has there been any movement in showing accumulated rain by day for the Tempest applet? I currently use the new observation applet to update a tablet dashboard, and all the observations work great, but not having rain amounts limits its usefulness.
