LocalSky: self-hosted dashboard for Tempest (UDP, no cloud) with radar, lightning, and optional irrigation

Built a self-hosted dashboard that listens to the Tempest hub’s UDP broadcasts directly: rapid-wind compass, rain, lightning strike rings, pressure, solar, UV, all live on your LAN with no cloud dependency and no rate limits. It merges public forecast models on top (and bias-corrects them against what your Tempest actually measured), shows RainViewer radar plus satellite IR, and can optionally run sprinkler controllers with FAO-56 evapotranspiration math fed by your station.

One Docker container, open source (Apache-2.0). Live demo: https://demo.localsky.io / Source: GitHub - silenthooligan/localsky: Hyperlocal weather + smart irrigation on your hardware. Local-first, no cloud, no subscription. Optional Home Assistant pairing. · GitHub
