The Air could tell you there was lightning 6 to 12 miles at 92 degrees and it may be moving closer. Thatâs a best guess and it does answer OPâs question.
A $360 lightning detection system that works is of great interest and Iâm surprised it hasnât been duplicated by in interest that has funding. Blitzortung has gone through three hardware revisions with improvements at each step. The fourth can only get better.
The Blitzortung website has a wealth of information though somewhat difficult to find. If these guys had backing and funding they would truly own the market and be an âovernight successâ though it took a decade.
What these two men have done it no less than remarkable. Maybe we can all ask Bill Gates to give them a million dollars to invest in there work.
WF has done a great job with the the Hub, Air & Sky. Nearby lightning detection will probably serve most folks well. For the folks who want something more that does what they wish or require. Save up around $1800.00, follow this link and it will show you products that should fill the bill, but this is an apples and oranges comparison.
Well, I guess this years Home Automation / Weather System budget just got bigger! Much thanks for that link and if anyone has feedback on this hardware please do reply. The mobile (LD-250) detection unit really interests me.
