Hi everyone. Longtime tempest owner and product manager (not at Tempest) here – I love trying to turn weather data into an answer to my kids’ daily question before they get dressed: what’s the weather like outside?
Until recently, my ideas were just that, but I’ve gone ahead and launched a new app that takes your Tempest weather’s raw observations and turns them into a simple display of useful comparisons vs recent averages and a succinct summary of how it “feels” out there in a usefully contextualized way.
Here’s the site: weathertrends.app
All you need to do is connect to your Tempest station via the OAuth flow, and you get:
- add your data with a simple and secure Tempest station authorization flow
- automated data aggregation and history pulls
- live weather display with most salient trends on how it feels vs. recently at this hour
- Gemini-driven summary of the weather right now vs. how it’s felt recently
- 24h + forecast charts showing metric vs. yesterday, 7d, and 30d averages at that hour – drier, hotter, rainier, clearer, sunnier, etc.
This is just for fun, but I’m also building out an e-ink visualization to make it even more relevant for a kitchen info display – because that’s where we all actually use the weather to inform our day.
Would love feedback from anyone willing to give it a shot!
