Most of that is caused by disconnecting without closing the connection. I had that issue and fixed it with a routine that closed the channel anytime the program exited. That took care of 95% of the exits.

Pretty sure I have this covered, but let me check the code again. I could have done something silly!

@peter PM me the api key that you are using and we can take a look and see if there are some clues that could help you track things down.

Thanks for the update David! For my use case, it sounds like the personal access token is what I want. I am already planning to accept both access tokens and api keys, so when I open source it, other people can use which ever suits them. I look forward to the doc updates that are coming!

In light of this recent post, if I were to use a personal token instead of an api key to access the REST and WS services, would I have a separate rate limit from the public api key, or would I still hit the same rate limits?
