Is there a beginners guide to setting up WeeWx on a iMac?

I am not very good when it comes to writing scripts/software and to me the whew installation on the iMac is a little confusing and if anyone is willing to walk me through it that would be great.

The main support forums for weewx are in google groups (link) but the instructions (here) look pretty normal to me.
