Massive power booster failure, Tempest issues

Today, I noticed that my Tempest was reporting heavy rain when its not raining. I went outside to check it and, to my surprise, the Tempest was not on top of the pole, but hanging from the connection cable plugged into the power booster. I then discovered that the screws that held the power booster to the pole adapter had completely sheared off! So now, I have a power booster I can’t use since I can’t attach it to the pole. My Tempest is now turned off as well as the hub but, somehow, its still registering data. There is also spots of some black substance on the Tempest, including the sensor on top and the haptic sensor. Need to know what my options are. Is the power booster still under some kind of warranty and what do I need to do to my Tempest at this point?
My Station ID is 15419

I was able to get my Tempest cleaned, etc. but the battery has been at 2.14v for over 24hrs. Is there a way someone can check on the backend to see if its charging or not? It is getting some sun now but the past 2 days were cloudy.

Any pictures? I’m not sure if you are saying that the PBA plate split apart or the mount screwed to the pole sheared the screws. In any case, is the Tempest in full sun during the day? If so, it should be charging.

Right now your station shows as Offline. Make sure the hub has a green light.

Here are the pictures I took. The Tempest has been cleaned up since then. When I go to the app on my phone, the first page shows the current data but if I click on the station icon in the upper right to bring up the next page, it shows data from 3 days ago. Station battery is still at 2.14v and station is offline. Hub has a green light.

UPDATE: I just moved my Tempest into full sun since the pole I normally have it on is in shade right now. Voltage just went up from 2.14 to 2.21 so I’m hopeful it will continue to charge.

Is there anyway to clear out the erroneous data from the last 3 days when it recorded rain events when it wasn’t actually raining?

Ok, it was the pole mount, not the PBA that broke. You just need a pole mount. You might be able to set the broken part back into the pole mount base and twist off the PBA base for use on a new mount. It twists off the same as the Tempest does.

I see that the Hub is now online but the Tempest sensor is not. It probably needs to charge some more. Just make sure the switch is in the on position so it will charge.

That picture is the whole assembly of the power booster adapter and its pole mount. I have one of the first production models. The new ones may attach differently now. There is no way to get that as separate pieces. The adapter is permanently attached to its own pole mount via those internal screws that got sheared off. If I could just get that part, I could still use the other part of the adapter that the PBA plugs into.

Oh, I didn’t realize that was a field test unit. Mine is still functioning. I also have the production unit. As you may recall, it is a puck which cen be mounted on any mount and can have the wire fed down through the center of a pole or out the side.

Can you post a picture of how your power booster attaches to your Tempest and the pole? The support staff doesn’t seem to under what I needed and is sending me a complete new Tempest. I’ve tried explaining to them again how mine connected to my Tempest and was permanently attached to the pole mount in the pictures.

Ok, it may be a day or two before I can get to it. It is possible that the WF staff you are dealing with came after the field test so don’t know that a unit like yours existed. If the Tempest sensor is fine, at most they would need to send you a new pole mount and a PBA.
