@peter I just installed fresh as Buster was not working for me anymore. installed Bookworm 32bit on the pi3+. I tried to set boot options in raspi-config to just boot and auto login to console. but i get the unable to connect to x server error as mentioned above. if i boot into desktop, then piconsole loads, however my touch panel is 180 deg out from the display orientation.
Additionally, i’m getting the same error i was on Buster before i blew it away, in that my display is saying data is from 13 days ago. All my weatherflow app installs on my phone and tablets are working ok with live data.
Inverted touchscreens is a “feature” on some Raspberry Pi installs. It isn’t related to the console. You can see many people facing the same issues, with some solutions: raspberry pi touch input reversed - Google Search. I have never had the issue myself, so don’t have a solution.
As for the stale data, can you share your station and device ID and I’ll take a look
your Tempest is offline since 2 weeks now

Try to reboot it via the switch underneath. A normal boot should show a few quick green blinks on the led and then out.
DOH, i completely didn’t realize that. all of my tablets/phones when using the tempest app show the current temp/information realitime, but don’t show any history when looking at the charts. weird. will have to wait for the snow to clear from the roof to get up there and restart or reset the tempest.
front page reverts to forecast if there is no real data coming from the Tempest. And yes wait till it is sage to climb up the roof.
I did solve the touch panel rotation issue not following the desktop screen rotation change.
See instructions here to resolve the issue: you have to rotate the display in desktop pref’s as well as the /boot/firmware config.txt and cmdline.txt files. then reboot the system and all is resolved.
