How 'bout this for creativity – eh? This is Station 1 in my backyard. From left to right:
- Tempest Field Test unit
- DVVISS
- the new “Bellevue Tempest° WeatherSystem”
- WFAIR-01 underneath a Davis 7714 Radiation Shield.
Not pictured: WFSKY-01 which is located at Station 2 attached to the chimney at the North end of the roof of the house.
The Pool Ladders are there for easy access to the equipment and to do PMIs (Preventative Maintenance Inspections) and bi-weekly cleaning. The spotlights in the lower left of the picture shine up at the Tempests & DVVISS so I can see them after sunset.
Yes there are LOTS of trees around. This neighborhood was established from the mid 1950s to early 1960s. People back then went TREE-Nutz. . .thinking it would provide shade. . .which it does. But. . .too much shade kills ability for solar-powered items to collect enough sunlight. There is a big opening directly above the station equipment. . .so rain collection is “fair to midland!”
