Had to replace my Tempest station over at Raleigh’s Place in Clanton, AL due to the barometric pressure sensor going bad. Got it up just in time for summer camp!

Here’s my “off-grid” set-up .7 miles off shore on an old duck blind piling in the Currituck Sound, NC.
Very cool indeed. Nice setup
Looks great. Nice house too.
That is a really great shot and install. Nicely done.
Nice job. I too, have a Starlink (2nd gen) and for the moment they are on separate masts. I wonder if the proximity of Dishy McFlatface affects any of the Tempest’s sensors?
I guess there could be some interference, but nothing that is obvious. When I built the mount I considered putting the weather station higher, but was concerned it could be and obstruction to the ‘dish’.
Was a gift for my birthday. Got the tempest pole and it was great! Here in Florida the weather changes in an instant. Watching the tempest light map is awesome too, which is one of the displays you can get
My first weather station.
I don’t think the horse trough should be significant enough to impact humidity readings…
Oooh Nice Tower. . .and NICE Windsock on top! Where is your tower / station located? Looks like Climbing is definitely involved! My old knees would not like that!
Nice spot, I just hope the sock won’t induce to much vibrations and induce false rain in the Tempest.
Ruh Roh! From your 3rd image. . .
it sure looks (to me) as if you have placed the BDA (Bird Deterrent Accessory) around the AIR GAP. Perhaps it’s just the angle of the photo. . .but it sure looks like it is covering the Air Gap on your Tempest° device. The proper placement of the BDA is as follows. . .
It should be round the outer edge of the “top cap”. . .as in this image below.
If the BDA is covering up / blocking the Air Gap. . .then the Tempest° will not be able to detect airflow (speed and direction) and you will have not have accurate wind measurements.
Otherwise. . .I like your weather-proof housing for the control box on the PBA (Power Booster Accessory).
Good catch!!!
It likely slid down there. I have had the same issue with my Tempest sensors because of the taper they added as compared to the original SKY. After trying adhesive and zip ties, I gave up and just removed the BDA.
The Tempest station should be aligned with true geographic north, not magnetic north. The iPhone Compass app provides for this using GPS. (Zero degrees is true north). No not apply any magnetic deviation/declination corrections to a GPS geographic true north compass heading value.
