Any random api changes ect. All of a sudden I can’t connect to hub… . . Scratch head… . . Maybe hub got a new ip on my network? .
wfpiconsole does not link to the hub directly. It get’s it data from the Weatherflow servers.
The api does not change randomly. What changed already for quite some time is the fact you need to use your personal api key instead the generic that was available since day one.
Did you generate your own key via the settings page (down the page in data authorization) and set it in wfpiconsole ?
Had a PICNIC error. Nothing wrong with wf or pi or software. Network mesh issues. **headslap
These are both good ideas that I will add to the list. Unfortunately my development time is a little limited at the moment as I have recently become a new dad.
How do you envisage the dynamic loading of panels working?
Congrats on becoming a new dad Peter!!!
I would think that there would just be a child folder (maybe called “panels”) and you would put the needed files for the panels in that folder. The main code would just loop over all of the files in that directory and load them. There would definitely need to be some established requirements for creating a panel, for example, the panel must be a specific size.
The code for the configuration screen would also need to be updated so that the drop-down would list all of the loaded panels instead of just being hard-coded.
This makes good sense - thanks for the thoughts. I will spend some time looking at how it can fit in with the existing code and hopefully make some changes for future versions.
Hi Peter,
is it solvable? I mean, display a warning when the station is offline.
Thank you Petr
Sorry I missed your original message. This is definitely possible and I will add something into the next release
Thank you Peter!
I don’t know if this is an issue with the data from the API or the way PiConsole calculates it, but the monthly lightning strike count is off. It should be about 9k, instead it’s showing 29.
Aside from that, I absolutely love this thing!
TIA,
-Morgan
Hello Morgan
Are you sure you had 9000 strikes within a 40 mile range of the Tempest in 17 days ???
@Peter will for sure double check his code as a typo is always possible though he might need a little more time to react as he has a new job to learn one taking 24/24 /- 7/7
Yeah, we had a couple of really big storms come through and the lightning was spectacular. Tempest was picking them up like crazy.
Hi @morgan - very happy to look into this. Can you let me know your station ID? Just a warning - I am very busy with new-parent responsibilities, so a fix may take more time than usual!
Morgan has 2 stations, not sure which one was mentioned above but at least you can advance
47973 and 48010
Congrats on becoming a new dad! My station ID is 48010. Happy hunting.
congrats with your new responsibilities!
Congratulations on being a father!
Thanks @peter for all the hard work and excellent software.
Anyone looking to take screenshot of their setup I found raspi2png works great. Have wfpiconsole fired up, ssh into device and then take a screenshot.
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ raspi2png -p screen3.png

Hello, Peter,
I want to go back to an older thing, the ability to monitor 2 different stations in one WeatherFlow PiConsole.
I have buy next WF weather station (the new WF Tempest), and would like to be able to see it on my WeatherFlow PiConsole as well, alongside the other older WeatherFlow one.
This means the possibility of switching, manually or even automatically??
Is it possible to add something like this to the existing SW?
I know you’re busy with your new parental duties right now, but I just wanted to chime in with this.
Thank you very much and have a good day new dad
Petr
