Android App - "No recent observation" in notification

Since the latest update, 5.10.5, which appears to have been on April 2, I keep getting a blank temperature and when I tap on the ongoing notification, it says, “No recent observation.” I can tap “refresh” and that resolves it, but I’ve used this great app for years and it’s never done that.

Am I the only one getting this error?

Mine seems to be doing fine. I run it on a dedicated Samsung A9+ tablet with always on display in my office and on a Pixel 7 Pro and has always updated. I also have the tabletop display from Lightmaps and that constantly updates as well. Maybe just do a reboot on the hub and device and see if that helps!

I recently got an email from Tempest telling me that my station was had not gotten a recent observation. I did not know that they monitored “US”! But it suggested I power down the hub and then turn it back on. So I unplugged it and reconnected and it has worked since. Since I had not noticed on my own, I did not try your “refresh” move. But maybe try turning on and off the power to the hub could work. Although, now that I wrote that, I do remember that the hub light was blue and not green. But, what the heck, give it a shot.

Good luck.

I’ve been getting that message, too. What @dkrees and @fjk6515 are referring to is different. This hasn’t been an issue with the regular Tempest app screens but only the ongoing notification. Tapping refresh in the notification does update it.

@gizmoev you’re exactly right. This isn’t the hub going offline, but a minor issue with the ongoing notification of the Android app.

Same issue here. I’ll try restarting the hub.

This issue has nothing to do with the hub or Tempest sensor. This is an Android app related issue.

I am having the same problem but with the widget and on going notification card. It happened with Android 14 and 15. Started with the latest Tempest update.
