btstWx ~ WeatherBox

Was at 3.8.5 an hour ago but now shows 3.9.0. This looks amazing! One question… in settings when I switch between compass and digital I don’t see any difference. Does that setting do anything?

That setting sets your ‘default’ view when launching the app. Instead of opening to the Compass, you can have it open to the Digital view instead.

This is really really nice!

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.

My iPad version is running V. 3.9 and it looks good. However, the frame that contains the NWS info now only shows one station (KOAK) where previously it also would show 3 additional stations which could be selected. I no longer have that option - the other 3 stations are gone. It would be nice to have them back since one is in my community and differs frequently from KOAK. What would be really nice, is to be able to select the default when there are multiple stations in the area. In my area , the San Francisco East Bay Area, the weather can vary GREATLY between the 4 stations in the area. Thanks for the great app and all the work you put into it to make it so good.

Thanks for the update… and the compliments.
You are correct, not sure what’s happened to the NWS panel, but working on it now.

When will the PRO version of the iOS app update will be available? I’m eager to check it out.

Working on it… had some RL (real life) issues come up.
Definitely this week.

But, if 1 million people would hurry up and purchase the PRO version… then I’d have time to dedicated my days to improving all my apps.

Don’t know if this was already noted but when using a FireTablet the screen will go dim after a set timeout period even if you go in as a developer and disable screen sleep. The fix is to install “Keep Screen On Free” from the Amazon App Store. Working perfectly now.

Update Aug 18 - Unfortunately the dimming problem has returned so I guess this was not the fix. There does not seem to be any solution for using Fire tablets with BTSTwx. Kind of surprised because I use them to view my security cameras through Blue Iris and do not have this dimming issue. Maybe because there is a “Do Not Sleep” setting within the Blue Iris app settings. I am going to try a latest generation version of the Fire Tablet to see if it works better (currrently testing with Gen 7) but I’m not expecting anything different.

Nice! Is it Windy Radar? I really like their format.

Nope… radar data is from rainviewer.com.

Planning on looking into other radar providers as a user-configurable option.

Sorry to bother you again Sam, but thought I should let you know what is occurring now with the NWS panel. Every time I log out and then log back in I get a different station, some I don’t recognize. I didn’t give you my station ID before. It is 22970 if it helps you. Thanks again for the efforts you put into the app.

After some discussions with @dsj, I will be disabling access to btstWx and btstWxPRO in the App Store and Google Play. Both apps will be unavailable for download/purchase for a time. I am not sure how long, but am actively working on getting them back online for installation/purchase.

I am reworking some of the code to fall in line with WF’s data-usage and presentation guidelines. This requires a rewrite to portions of the code, disabling some features, and enhancements to others.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The current versions of the app will continue to operate as-is for some time. However, certain functionality may fail to operate in the future.

Please bear with me as I create a new, updated, innovative look at YOUR weather.

Thankyou Sam. I had stopped using it since I could not select the correct Sky from my collection. Good luck with your improvements.
