When I open the app, the station page shows the forecast and some current data, but it doesn’t seem to match what the tempest itself reports at the same time.
For example right now it’s saying 4 degrees, feels like -3. But if I tap in the corner on the tempest icon, it’s reporting 7.6 degrees, which is almost double.
I use this through home assistant and I’ve noticed the temperature in the weather entity does not match the temperature coming from the tempest, it’s often off by quite a bit.
Is there something I need to do to “prefer” the local readings?
It was offline a few times this week with the freezing temps and low lights, but no it’s been online for almost 24h now. It is in low power mode, but as far as I can tell the temp sensor is reporting and there’s no warning on it that I can see
it will use some general prediction of the weather instead of measured values when it doesn’t send data for some period of time. That’s why I was asking.
Makes sense. The forecast integration is failing in HA, which I understand means the API is returning something strange so maybe there is something going on, but the station itself is definitely reporting right now, i can see new data points coming in.
Maybe we’ll see if and when it comes out of power saving mode
I have the exact same problem here in Pennsylvania. 23 degrees on the front page, selecting the icon and it is 1.4 degrees warmer (earlier it was off by about 4 degrees). Also the windspeed and direction doesn’t track correctly from the front page to the icon page.
On the app, at the bottom of the front page it is reporting offline. But in the settings all the communication looks good - wifi and Bluetooth.
When looking at the webpage interface, the front page status at the bottom of the page reports online but the temp and windspeed readings do not match the icon page.
Not much we can do ourselves, we’ll need support to chime in on this. I understand not all fields can be provided in power saving mode, but it seems strange not to use the ones that the station does report
