I’ve had my tempest mounted at 25ft off the ground in the West Midlands in the UK, on a well secured pole above the roof, and it rarely has erroneous measurements (very occasionally reporting rain when in fact it’s just very high winds, other than that it correlates pretty closely to the other three stations about 5 miles in each direction from me).
Why then, does the weather forecast invariably tell me it’s going to rain or that a thunderstorm is likely throughout most days - including alleged 60% chance right now (and for the next 10 days), when although the temperature is about 32C, humidity is a mere 35%, pressure is 1017mb (having only dropped gradually from 1020mb yesterday morning)?
The Met Office, Accuweather and Meteoblue all currently report less than 5% chance of rain for the foreseeable future, so why is the Tempest forecast pretty much unusable?
Yeah it’s particularly bad right now, but it’s done this to a slightly lesser extent ever since I installed it (having just checked the data, that was about a year ago)
Just coming to say I see the same thing in North London. Forecast has been saying Thunderstorms or at least Rain constantly for the last week or so an is for the next week!
Even the “current” forecast for now tells me it’s Rainy. The station readings are accurate and now rain for weeks, so something is very off.
Id thought the forecast was generally pretty good normally, this makes it unusable though.
Not opened a case with support but I’ll do that if I get time.
science folks discovered an issue with rain prediction and applied a correction last night (EU time). Can you all monitor again if this is now more accurate ? For me it is better and more in line with other models.
