IFTTT lightning question:

Is there any way to log lightning distance in the Log Tempest Data to Google Sheets applet in IFTTT? All that is logged is number of strikes. Granted, it would have to be an average distance over the minute (or the nearest distance), but that would still be useful.

The existing IFTTT Log Lightning applet doesn’t work – at least I haven’t had any lightning strikes logged by the applet during last night’s nearby thunderstorms.

I can’t seem to find an answer to this in the forums – it’s been referenced, but no fix described.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

I know @WFstaff is supposed to redo the ifttt channels. Not sure where they are at with that project though.

I’d noticed that the IFTTT channel wasn’t working but initially thought it was something to do with my applet. Since it’s not just me, I guess it’s something in the back end.

Yes there are some known problems with IFTTT lightning triggers at the moment. Our development team is in the process of revamping the Tempest integration with IFTTT.
