Thought I would let others that use the Tempest mounting kit of a problem with it. I am in IN,USA
so my weather changes all the time. I have my Tempest about 16 ft off the ground mounted to the back side of my pole barn. This morning my weather station was reading no wind, and higher temp then it was outside. When I went to turn it off and back on to see if that would help it, I found the weather station on the ground. Seems like water got into the mounting tubes and with the temp getting down to about 20 deg’s the water froze and the ice pushed the station out from the mounting brackets. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the elbow to drain and keep the water out of the mounting kit. If you are going to use the kit and install it without glue (as the instruction says you can do) I would drill at least a 1/4" hole in the bottom of the elbow.

Interesting experience and indeed something to share with everyone. Thanks for that.
