Same in the IOS app :grinning:

@eric - Is there a reason why my station down south is not displaying the radar on the station page but the other three are (including a Hub that hasn’t been powered on in 3+ years)? I tried a virgin browser to rule out a cache problem, and it also didn’t show radar for that station but did for the other three.

Oh wow! That’s just awesome! Thanks!

Hello,
@eric
Do you know when this feature will be also available for Europe?

Thank you!

Radar map will show on front page once there is a chance of rain, if it is 0%, the little map won’t show. There is also some geo location to prevent showing the map on the front page when there is no coverage for the spot.
The tab will always show the map with radar where there is coverage.

No, no date given. I heard discussions are ongoing to get data for other regions but as usual nothing being free in this world … guess it is API calls versus $$$ …

And to be complete, the feature is also on Android

Pretty sure its not that hard to get the data from bom.gov.au. Like MyRadar gets the boms radar and warnings. This is the Australian government weather authority.

So in my case I can’t take advantage of this new feature.

For me it’s working in Romania with sources like weather.com and wunderground.

It will be great from your side to extend this functionality also for Europe and have the radar info included into the tempest app.

Thanks!

Sure it is easy when yo shell out enough $$$ , data is never free for commercial use.
As said there are discussions going on.

@eric I just feel like I’ve been left in the dark about the storm & fire ready kit. It was meant to connect to the local phone network but it seems like talk about this has stopped and I paid extra for it in the kickstarter campaign.

While waiting for this to appear in the app for European users I suggest (for IOS user) you can see the next 12 hours forecast rain, wind etc in the Apple weather app.
Bottom left corner. Excellent and accurate forecast.

Nice addition!!! Is there any way to switch between the stations map and radar map?

Awesome addition!

Would love to see the map even when precip is 0% to easily access the radar in the app.

It’s fun to look around the country!

You can always open up the map tab on the bottom bar and have a look around.

Is there a way to NOT show the radar. We need a button for ‘always off’
Nice feature but does not fit with my system setup.

Agreed that we need to be able to turn the map off.

My android tablet perfectly displayed the current weather and the hourly forecast, visible from across the room thanks to zoomed display. Now the oddly thin map slice pushes much of the content down, and is not visible from a distance.

You’ve forced a close-up only feature into the distance-dashboard use case. Please make the map optional.

There will be an option to turn it off in a future build. We also have a dashboard view if you are running on a tablet that doesn’t include the map. It’s under Full Screen Mode in the settings.

Thank you for the suggestion. When I got up this morning and looked at my always-on tablet the map is now gone and the display is back to “normal” or at least it’s previous state. Thanks! :man_shrugging:
