New Tempest Web URL for 10", 15" and 22" Tablets/Screens

I have created a new weather site that also includes a data forward Tempest page. You can check out the standard site here (myweatherdesk.com) and the Tempest page here ( myTempest Display | myWeatherDesk ) You can just open that second page on any tablet device - but is targeted for portrait mode devices up to 22". Both pages allow you to setup your Tempest to pull local data - but it also pulls data from other Tempest devices, as well as using about 10 other API’s as back up weather data to ensure you get the most accurate, hyper local forecast. Let me know your thoughts. You can email me to provide feedback and feature requests at myweatherdesk00@gmail.com Thanks! - Wade

First look at my Tempest° `s data using your dektop version. Very very Nice. Effort. . .Well spent!

The only anomaly I observed is the Battery Level. It shows 0.00v but in reality. . .the battery voltage s/b (shud be) 2.80v.

This is very nice, I’ll be looking into this further. So I understand properly, this is an app that you wrote, and you were administering? Nice work.

Yes @bruce3 I have only focused on portrait mode mostly - so landscape as @storm_tracker posted is not fully ready. I did already fix @storm_tracker s feedback about the battery voltage issue. I am also expanding the radar slightly taller this morning as well. I will focus on landscape later today. Thank you both for your input and please let me know if there is anything you would like to see added.

Battery voltage fixed as of Wednesday morning…June 24th.

@bruce3 @storm_tracker I have updated both portrait and landscape now. I have also added some new features and tweaked others. Here is a short list: Animated moving background - including rain, snow, lightning, clouds, etc - solar events that follow the sky (move), count down to next solar event, feels like temp, hi-res radar, radar now automatically animates, improved battery voltage sensor, improved forecast model that pulls forecasting from your Tempest, Accuweather, Weather, and other to ensure the most accurate forecasts, and more coming.

@twosuns70 is there a way to covert the Pressure on the page. . .OR have it display the SLP (SeaLevelPressure) instead of the Station Pressure (the barometric pressure at a particular station for a given elevation above Sea Level) ?

i.e instead of this:

display this:

That is. . . take the “Pressure” directly from the Tempest`s card view or main page and not extract it from the “Station Pressure.”

Let me look into this, @storm_tracker

@storm_tracker try it now. It does auto update so you should already see version 1f8eaa8 but if not, just reboot or refresh.

Yheee Hawww! Thanks for your efforts @twosuns70! It worked. (lower right corner!)

Hey everyone - I have continued to fine tune and improve. We now have a built in alert system that clears itself after some time (minimizes the alerts), improve Tempest health connection, greatly improve weather graph (showing temp, precip, and wind), improved radar, and updated the data cards with more useful information near the bottom of the page. See attached landscape image of an example. Keep in mind that the app is a PWA build so it auto updates itself when I push an OTA update. If you have feedback or requests (I do take feature requests) please email me at myweatherdesk00@gmail.com

Obviously. . .I`ve been using is it for several days now. A good useful Tempest° tool keeps getting Better-by-the-day!

I hope that other Tempest° owners will use and enjoy this item as much as I Do!

I us it on my Android (“Data” from ST: TNG: Ah, I have access!) device and Win11 PC. I have two very very old out-dated MS Surface Tablets. Unfortunately this will not work on them because the tablets have MS Win8.1 (RT) on them. . .so both tablets are “Ancient Technology!” (circa 2012).

(Recent owner of a tempest here!)

the web layout is real nice and works on a very old Pi3 (with a touchscreen).

the HW is way underpowered, but typically not a big deal here…except for the radar loop which is quite taxing to the pi (and chromium is not helping).

could it be possible to have a setting/toggle on the radar to just do loop (like now) or static with a 5 min refresh)?

much appeciate the work here!

I also just noticed that on PC, chrome, no issue, but for some reason, in firefox, the live tempest never updates (aka it never shows “updated Now” ) if I set the location zipcode (alongside my tempest data…) I just removed my zipcode and it showed updated immediately.

i tried the webpage nice display. any way to get the wind to display more often like 3 seconds?

Thanks for the feedback. I work on it daily and see what I can do to help with your feedback. Keep in mind that if you note and bugs or regressions, that I too will likely see them and they will be addressed. Push 3-4 updates a day on average.

Hey there pcapaccio. Let me see what I can do without overpowering the api. I push a few improvements daily so give me a few days. Thanks for checking it out.

I also noticed the sampling of various data (wind for instance) is based on the browser sampling dataset.

I wonder if with the Tempest integration, the browser could pull datapoints from the tempest probe itself to build some history. maybe on demand as to not bog down on slow HW (such as pi).

@atvinnys I have updated the radar with a toggle in the lower right corner of the radar screen. See below. Hope this helps. It will refresh every 5 minutes with the other data. For the Firefox issue it is likely because the app is a PWA design and Firefox does not natively support them (though they are working on that). I have read that to install and run PWAs in standalone windows right now, desktop users utilize the community-created PWAs for Firefox Add-on. On Android, Firefox natively supports adding PWA site shortcuts to your home screen

I tried to email u but It said not delivered
