Photos of Sky and Installation

SKYpole (left) - SKYFT1 (right - field test, super hydrophilic coating). Two different poles - left is a lighter aluminum pole with vibration dampening : right mounted to a rigid, galvanized steel chain link top rail. SKYFT1 is about 2 feet higher.

Just finished installing it on the mast with the Davis gear. Should be good for comparing readings.

Hi @seaman55,
Is the pole designed to undo the one bolt on the left and rotate it to the right?
I like several aspects, also how you combined the two poles with those clamps.

FWIW, my VP2 and Sky share the same mast:

Do they argue with each other?

Hello @iladyman ,
One of the reason’s I set it up this way is that it is very adjustable, I’m pretty sure the answer to your question is yes, but to be sure I am truly answering your question accurately, I need to know exactly which bolt you are referring to. There are quite a few clamps and bolts.

100m from shore or any other obstruction. Love the Solar option!

How did you get that installed up there ? The flag isn’t causing to much false rain under heavy wind ?

Windsurf mast on a screw mount. I don’t care about rain readings and value the flag for visuals on wind behavior.

I wanted to have mine with a little more space between, with less potential for interference, and to get the air sensors at the same height, for a real close comparison.

Probably overkill, but that’s just how I am.

If you look at the second picture link, they are at the same exact height…

Hi @seaman55,
I refer to the left leg of the tripod where it attaches to the bracket on the side of the roof with only one attachment to the roof. I guess either the horizontal bolt between the bracket and the leg, but the bolt into the roof if for any reason was easier to undo then that one. And I am guessing the 2 brackets on the right of the roof can remain bolted, but perhaps loosened to allow easy rotation.
I have a pole system which rotates in a different pattern to this.
But I am currently considering another pole mount on my roof to secure some cameras and your design contributes to my thoughts thank you.
cheers Ian

What for is the antenna (?) at the left side ?

Home made tower side mount for my Sky using PVC located up 25 feet on a ham radio tower.

The antennas are a Ubiquity mesh WiFi access point. It does a great job with coverage mounted up there.

I like the Unifi mesh AP on the same Sky mount!
