Likely a dumb question but where does one purchase a metal pole for the tempest?
i.e. Home Depot or Lowes.
What lengths are usually available?
Waiting on unit … just ordered.

The best-kept secret in personal weather stations:
Thanks… Lowes carries this also!
We used these for small and medium TV aerials in the 80s.
I used a pretty heavy walled galvanized water pipe due to the high winds and tropical weather we have. It is also very stiff which is better for rain detection. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Southland-1-in-x-10-ft-Galvanized-Steel-Pipe-565-1200HC/100576427
I used galvanized water pipe also, from Home Depot. As I recall, it came in 10 ft lengths and I had them cut to 8’ and 2’ and threaded on the cut ends. I then purchased a plastic cap for the bottom end and a 2’ threaded PVC section for the top, and buried the pipe 2’ into the ground. This should last longer than I will.
Consider spending $20 more and getting the one covered in black vinyl, which I think looks nicer & also works well, e.g. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Vinyl-Coated-Steel-Chain-Link-Fence-Top-Rail/999978242
