Public location isn’t the same as the location during setup

I’ve noticed that when I set the location of the weather station, the public display is a little bit off. I was curious to the reason why? It’s not off my much though.

You can set the public location to any where you want, really. I don’t know if there is a purposeful move or if maybe the number of digits stored is less than the actual location. Some people don’t want the public to know exactly where their station is so they my put it a little ways away, like in a field, park, or the middle of an intersection.

Thanks for mentioning this, @gizmoev. I didn’t realize I could change the public-facing location until I saw your post, so I followed your suggestion and set the location to the middle of a nearby intersection.
