Rain Sensor Question

Just out of curiosity, has anyone had issues with WF turning off the “rain guard?” If I understand correctly, there is a guard in place for it to ensure it is rain actually falling prior to it tracking.

Today in Columbus, OH (station 33798), we’ve had lots of light rain, totaling .1" so far. My other station is 2x this total. I’ve had one rain calibration already. Usually, the Tempest matches my other station within 0.01-0.04" on any event.

I ask this question because during light rain at the start of a shower sometimes it takes a couple minutes to register. Would be interested to see how others are seeing things and if they asked for theirs to be turned off. Other tempest stations around me are appearing to be too high and my totals are fairly close to METAR sites close by. Thanks and stay safe!
