Here’s an inside look at the trials and tribulations of international product fulfillment.
Based on reports today from honest customers like @jim.wn1x we learned that some recent SKY recipients got an extra SKY device (paid for one, got two!) Upon learning this, we immediately took a forensic look at our May 18 batch delivery. We compared the expected quantity shipped versus the shipping manifest weight for each box. To our surprise and dismay (huge bummer) we discovered that our contracted shipper in China apparently screwed up and transposed the qty on about 52 orders. Specifically, there were some backers who received two SKYs when they only ordered and paid for one, while a similar number of backers received one SKY when they ordered two.
Please know that we meticulously combed over every single order, carefully organized into the required product and regional batches, deliberately eliminated all possible complexity to reduce the risk of error — yet our shipper f’ed up the boxing quantity on a small percentage of the orders from the May 18th batch. We’re bummed, we’re embarrassed, but we’re moving forward.
We will be contacting backers who erroneously received an extra SKY and will be supplying a pre-paid return USPS mailing label with the hopes of retrieving the errant products. Once returned, we’ll send a small gift with our gratitude. After all the effort we have put into making this project a reality, we’re hoping that honest customers will have it in them to mail back the extra SKY so we can get it into the hands of another eager customer.
For backers who received one SKY instead of two as ordered…we’ll send you another SKY as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.
