More of a FYI than anything else … if you need to ship a sensor unit back to Tempest using USPS (Tempest’s preferred method, it seems), and you are in or near SE Pennsylvania, be careful what you say to them. The clerks have apparently been instructed to refuse anything with a battery (one of the questions they ask) due to it being a HAZMAT. I have tried to explain to them that USPS packaging instructions 9D ( USPS Packaging Instruction 9D | Postal Explorer ) apply and that 9D requires no special handling, labeling or packaging for a single cell LTO battery installed in equipment, but, they are not listening. They insist that a local post office (West Chester, PA) that caught fire about 11 months ago was caused by a battery explosion (all I could find is that the cause determination had not yet been made), so, they have declared ALL batteries as HAZMAT items.
