Which, by the way, only works if youâre using a Windows computer âŚ
Hi John,
Sunnyâs solution also works on Apple and linux computers with various browsers or methods. What are you referring to that only works on windows computers?
cheers Ian
I donât think this is a true statement unless you are referring to something else.
The message that @johngross888 replied to was specifically a link to the thread explaining how to add a data import source to Microsoft Excel.
From my own experiences using Microsoft Office stuff on an Apple Macintosh, I can say with certainty that the MacOS version of Office is missing a lot of features that are in the Windows version and appear to be developed independently by different silos at Microsoft who never talked to each other.
I no longer have MacOS Office available to verify, but Iâd not be surprised if the data import stuff was missing from MacOS ExcelâŚ
I have a Mac and Excel. The procedure does ânotâ work because Microsoft does not have the get data from a web url option in Excel for Mac.
The workaround is to use a browser to click on the URL (I used Safari) which will download the CSV file. Itâll then open in whatever app you have the default for CSV set to. Mine opened it in Numbers, but if you have the defaults set to open in Excel it will use that.
