I got a couple emails indicating my temptest was offline, then online, then offline again.
I’ve done the following troubleshooting steps:
- Rebooted everything (station and hub)
- Reset hub radio and re-paired
- Nothing seems to be working the station reports “network status” offline.
Hub details:
- Original hub model WF-HUB501a
- Wifi Signal: Strong (-43)
- Firmware Revision: 194
- Uptime: 102d 8h 19s (this is odd as I rebooted it several times)
Station details:
- Model: WF-TWS01
- Firmware Revision: 181
After resetting the radios and going through the re-pair procedure I see a solid green light when pressing the button on the bottom of the station which in theory indicates it’s connected… but the hub still reports everything as offline.
Any ideas here?
Hey,
Please raise it with the support team
Also ask them to upgrade the hub to 212 ( this is the latest version).
Thanks!
I did send a ticket in via the main website using what looked like a chat feature but really just submitted a ticket. Hopefully that goes to the same crew as the form on this site does?
Just posted here as I have no idea how quickly their support responds and was hoping someone might have a trick to kick this thing back into gear.
If a ticket was created they will reply for sure.
The chat is working only for US availability - 8hs
Just an update here - did troubleshooting with chat support (very helpful) but could not get the thing online. It’s odd because I actually see it in my router showing online but the hub itself seems to be not communicating any way other than bluetooth.
They are working with me to get a replacement at a discount which I appreciate.
That’s what it seems like - still odd that I see it online via my router. Also BLE works, and I can even see the station when connected to the hub via BLE so it seems like an odd software thing. Oh well, new kit on the way. I wonder if I I can use the old station and have two stations connected to the new hub?
The BLE purpose is intended only for pairing /setup , did you try to disable it after pairing ?
Each hub can handle something like 16 devices.
As for the BLE on the hub, it used to be that the data would be uploaded to the cloud through your BLE connected app assuming that the device had internet access. I haven’t checked for several years if that feature still works.
Of course now that I’ve ordered the replacement the thing has mysteriously come back online. Still glad I have a replacement I guess as for whatever reason this 3+ year old unit has suddenly become unreliable.
How funny, I had a very similar experience in the past 24 hours, no temp or wind data updates (possibly not identical, no idea if mine was hub related). Also, ordered a new Tempest. Probably just going to install the new one and not worry about it, but the very similar experience is odd (resets did nothing, then it came back by itself this morning). The failed unit is a second or third warranty replacement from past dead ones. I like the Tempest system a lot, no idea why they don’t last here (upstate, NY). This morning, mine is also back online after playing dead and losing some data. [Now, I’m wondering if it could have been a battery issue, sun is bright this morning]. Station ID is 55346. ST-00051491 Device ID 155146 Tempest RSSI Good (-52) Firmware 181 Battery now 2.65 Sensor Status good, Uptime 0d19h47m
I almost wonder if they weren’t having a system outage of some kind… would have been good to know that. I think I lost a ton of historical data as they had me delete my old locations during troubleshooting… hope that’s not the case but seems likely

Just a note for reference, you should NOT pair the hub to your mobile device. Just let the app do the communicating with the hub if it is in range. If paring was done, definitely delete the pairing on your mobile device. If you want to test a non-BLE connection just turn off Bluetooth on your mobile device if you are in range of the hub.
yeah, definitely never paired and only let the app connect as needed.
