The west coast of the USA is under a blanket of smoke from wildfires. The air quality surrounding my Tempest station has been rated as Hazardous for days. I am wondering how the Tempest will do with PM2.5 levels of 270+ micrograms/cubic meter surrounding it for extended periods. Any worries or maintenance needs I should be alert to? Thanks
I found the smoke and rain causes a dirty buildup to accumulate. I could not hose it off. I have not found official advice how to clean the Tempest but this topic shows a method. But be warned that it is critical that you do not damage the coating on the surface between the wind sensor air gap otherwise water droplets can stick causing incorrect wild wind readings.
