Understanding Wind Data on Tempest

Can someone tell me what “SW 3.9 mph” represents as far as data in the screen shot below? I know it is a South West wind at 3.9mph but is it an average for a minute, 5 minutes, etc…

Tempest Wind

It is the average for the previous minute.
BUT
With the Sky which preceeded the Tempest the Sky always (unless it was switched to power save mode) used 3 second readings to calculate the one minute average.
The Tempest changes how often it takes a reading depending on the battery voltage.
So if your Tempest is at full voltage taking 3 second readings then that figure is the average of the readings from the previous minute.
As your battery voltage drops the readings are taken less frequently.

Got it.
Thanks for the quick response.

And here is where you see the change as voltage drops
