Gary,
Thanks for the explanation. Very helpful. I already liked this topic. It’s a really cool map - if I could like it again I would. Can’t wait to see it after I get my station up and running.
Any idea when you’ll allow station data input?
When you LIKE
this reply (this is how I keep track of invitations) I’ll MESSAGE you a link to add your own information to the Map.
I have finished the web pages to allow one to enter their data to have your Station high-lighted and the station information entered on the Map. It’s not ready for full release but it should work well enough to be tested. I will immediately fix errors as they come up.
NOTE:
I am going to take only 52 people. If you want a place in line, you can register and enter your station data at a future date.
I have added a new feature to the Map. It now supports a Group of stations.
Currently there are private groups. If you have more than one station you can view only your stations by using the group command in the URL.
http://wf.fsoft.com/?group=dr18040200
This will zoom-in on the group and display only the stations in that group.
And now the ability to create and display a public group.
For some reason the name isn’t listed in the appropriate location.

That name comes from the public_name that is set in the WeatherFlow Application. Sometimes this is not set in the application.
It’s set

You may need to set it again. The public_name field was an added after many had set up their devices.
Make a change in the name, save it, undo the change and save again.
This is what WeatherFlow has for you now:
{
“stations”: [
{
“location_id”: 1817,
“name”: “Renaissance - Maupin”,
“public_name”: “”,
“latitude”: 39.49108,
“longitude”: -84.30429,
“timezone”: “America/New_York”,
“station_meta”: {
“share_with_wf”: true,
“share_with_wu”: true,
“elevation”: 241.1166839599609
},
“last_modified_epoch”: 1515717748,
I have added the ability to create a public group.
Might be a dumb question, but how do you create the group ? Or is this the next step ?
Here the group name is wf to zoom into WF stations, but how do I make for ex my group?
it’s not a dumb question. I’m working on the web page for public groups.
I don’t know exactly how the back-end will work. I would very much like your input.
your system allows to define multiple stations. Maybe add a checkbox before each station when in list view. Add a field “groupname” and a button ‘make’
that will create the group of selected stations.
Add a new screen where you can manage the group allowing to delete the group.
Only question, if you have several stations at several hundred miles apart … how do you zoom ??
At this time, it will zoom on the first station. I think I should allow you to input a zoom level.
The Map just hit 600 unique visitors from this forum. Hopefully they are from backers or future customers.
I need a logo type graphic for the Map. Do any of you have any ideas?
The WF logo inside a globe?
ill do one for you in SVG 2000px width and height so you can use it in any view it will scale up and down without loss of quality and under 15k . let me know feel free to send any rough ideas … please dont use jpg or gif if you make your own…

As a viewer, What information would you like to see about the station that you can’t see by viewing the weather?
