Loved seeing this when I checked the 1000 update!

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles (280 km)
to the southeast of the center. A sustained wind of 39 mph (64 km/h)
and a gust to 49 mph (80 km/h) was recently reported at an NOS site
at Calcasieu Pass, Louisiana. A wind gust to 49 mph (80 km/h) was
also recently reported at a Weatherflow site at Cameron, Louisiana.

WeatherFlow’s “day job” includes operating a large private network of coastal weather stations, using pro-grade commercial products. I suspect that this experience plays a big part in why they are utilizing maintenance-free sensors in their home weather station designs…
