I just received my new unit but am not able to get it to connect to my internet. I have Xfinity dual band 5g and 2.4 not sure why it wont grab a signal
According to the Tempest specs, it can only connect to the 2.4 band.
Are your 5GHz and 2.4GHz SSID the same? If so, try naming them different. Also, make sure there aren’t any non-alphanumeric characters in the WiFi password. One other thing to check is that the security protocol is WPA and not WEP.
Go into your router settings and where it shows connected devices. See if it allows you to edit the connection to the Tempest to force it to connect at 2.4. Some offer that, usually the more expensive, some, most, don’t.
Another thing you can try is to bring your Tempest right close, within a foot or so of your router and try to get it to connect. I’ve found that on some wifi lights you need to do this on the first connection only. Maybe your router treats some devices like that.
