Help with set up

Hello, just got one of these and am excited about it. But i cant seem to getthehub to connect to wifi. Can you help me?

What ive tried.
Turning everybody on and off.
Restarting the app.

The hub connects to weather station and my tablet. Im using a tablet with the app on it.

The tablet connects to wifi just fine, but the app is unable to find networks most of the time. Occassionally it finds networks, but never the one i want to use. I have also tried manually entrring the wifi network and it did not work.

The hub is about 3 feet from wifi. Im using a wifi hotspot.

Is the wifi hotspot using 2.4 GHz wifi channels, or only 5 GHz? The Hub will only communicate with 2.4 GHz wifi…

I assume 2.4 because that is in the name of the hotspot. But i am not a computer person

Is your Hub one of the new purple ones with an external antenna, or one of the old white ones that sort of looks like a sailboat sail?

So it allegedly has WPA3 wifi encryption, ruling that out.

Unless someone else has a suggestion, I think that this would best be handled by opening a support ticket and letting them take it from here…

my assumption would be that it isn’t a tempest problem but a problem with the hotspot/phone combo. Perhaps try one phone or tablet to set it up and another phone for the hotspot.

I am using a tablet for the app and a wifi hotspot is out internet at this location. The hotspot is one of those little black boxes that provides wifi only. Its a dedicated hotspot device

I don’t think that it is the tablet, since it reportedly links successfully via Bluetooth. It sounds like the Hub cannot see the hotspot’s wifi for some reason. The only common reasons for not being able to connect via wifi are WPA3 and 5 GHz frequencies, and both of them have more or less been eliminated.

Hence, my suggestion to open a ticket with support and let them take it from here…
