I just replaced my original WeatherFlow station with a new Tempest station, and it seems to be working well. However, I received a few emails from my neighbors who I’ve shared my URL with that tell me they no longer can access the data that’s been available since 2018, but instead are greeted with the following image. Anyone know what the deal is?
That’s most interesting. I just pulled up the public URL for my station in a Private window to test and I was able to get to my weather. Does the URL you’ve given them look like this?
tempestwx(dot)com/station/(station#)/
It does indeed, but I have the word “grid” appended to the end, as in:
tempestwx(dot)com/station/(station#)/grid
I’ve also been able to access the URL with the /grid appended to it via Private Mode and it worked. So it seems odd that anyone would get the landing page you showed in the original post.
To check others, I went to the Map in private mode, picked a random weather station, and it also led me to that station’s page. It makes me wonder if there’s a setting that can control whether a page is private or not, but I haven’t found anything.
There is, in Temptest app…
Settings / Stations / Click Station name / Public Data / enable public data
I don’t know how I missed that, you can get that from the Browser as well. Good to know!
