long time user. Starting today, the tempest ios app stopped reporting my station info. I tried on wifi and on cellular. In the course of troubleshooting, I uninstall and reinstalled the app. After opening and logging into the app, the app wants me to set up the hub. When it gets to the part where it wants the hub info, it tells me: This hub is connected to another account. If you want to access this tempest sign into the original account.
I AM signed into the original account. I only have 1 account. I can use the same usr\pwd to sign into the web app, which correctly shows and reports my hub and weather info.
Any ideas?
powered off hub, and powered back on. No change.
hub has solid green light
reinstalled ios app.
iPhone 14 pro - most up to date ios version
I came here looking to see if others were also experiencing this. I thought it was my app (android) so uninstalled it, reinstalled, and now it’s stuck trying to sign me in. I can connect to the station via the webpage and everything is fine there.
Same issue here. iOS app seems broken. I can login on the web but some kind of issue with the auth with the app. Telling me I need to sign in with original account, but the web is on the same account. Some type of server error for sure.
same here, i signed out and tried to sign back in, now it wants me to repair the app with the sensor even though the tempest website still shows my unit online
I’m starting to regret uninstalling and reinstalling. If I’d known it was a widespread issue, I would have just waited till it started working again.
I am able to see my station’s data if I click on the little Tempest icon top right of the app’s landing page, and via the browser I see forecasts, but my iOS app is not working. I’m guessing a server issue or something on Tempest’s part. I have submitted a ticket and suggested they post an announcement. (they have never done so in the past when these issues crop up)
Hub has all green lights. The main page of the iOS app is blank. However, when I go to the actual data page, all the data is still coming in realtime and up-to-date. I go to settings in the app and it shows the hub and sensor is disconnected, but that’s not possible because they’re giving me real time information still.
I did the same thing you did which was uninstall the app and reinstall it and now it’s doing the same thing saying that the device is locked to a previous account even though I’ve only ever had one account and I’m stuck at that same locked out page.
I’ve also restarted the hub, but it’s working fine technically. I did see a message in the app somewhere that referenced a possible hub firmware upgrade, but that might not be relevant and I can’t that anymore after reinstalling the app and being locked out.
It was a generic status message like hub_up_2 something. I didn’t screenshot it
If I go to tempestwx.com to my public link while logged in, I can see all of the data in real time to the very second and the main forecast page is loading just fine and everything is reporting connected. I can’t see the hub and its status via the web version without the app.
I also have the Tempest station connected to Weather Underground and CARROT Weather on my phone and they’re all receiving real time data without issue.
It’s definitely some sort of glitch. Everything is receiving data perfectly fine except the iOS app from what I can tell.
It’s a failing on their tech support’s part: twice before there have been widespread issues, and crickets. How hard is it to post an announcement here?
Mine is still down. Showing 005 offline. It is updating on my phone, but not on the cloud. So when I log in to my station on a web browser it shows it has now been updated for 1 day. Confirms for me it is a cloud and back end glitch versus my local connectivity.
I finally got mine running. Support suggested I try a different power source. They have seen the problem caused by the power cord failing. That seems to have done the trick.
