Hello one and all, I would love to know from fellow tempest owners and the likes what they think of the new tempest tablet design now offered for just over 100 dollars. It looks kinda cool and different but does it justify the cost, and if so why? I’m wondering how much different and useful it would be in order to drop that kind of money?

I bought one and I am really enjoying it! Very easy to view from across the room. Family loves it. Very colorful and always changing. Plus you can page through current conditions, Tomorrow and the next days forecast. I feel it was worth the money as it looks a lot nicer than the app on a tablet.

Just as a clarification, it is NOT a tablet with an LCD display. The layout is permanently printed on the glass, with LED lights providing approximated readings for the gauges that it displays…

I can’t speculate on long-term value, but you can definitely get something similar(ish) for about half the money with a Kindle Fire tablet or the like. But it is definitely nice looking and sounds pretty simple to set up.
