Sky installed for a few weeks on my roof. It is quite a bit lower than the surrounding trees, but the highest area at my house. The antenna is not currently in use. The tower itself is quite well secured, and is 1-1/4" EMT, with a small stack of adapters to go to 1-1/4" threads, then down to a 1" IPT nipple. Just a few minutes in the hardware store messing with piles of plumbing and electrical parts.
I hope so too, if it does, I’ll remove it. There is also the possibility it is damping things a bit by adding mass and turbulence…
So far, the station has recorded max gusts of up to 21mph, with one moderately windy day, and it has recorded exactly 0" of rainfall (it has snowed, and one day of freezing drizzle, but no real rain), so I’m hopeful.
You could also fill the pipe with sand. Simple effective way to dampen vibration. Only thing to watch for is that the tube becomes heavy and it’s fixing needs some Attention.
Ok, here’s mine. It’s at Cape Hatteras in Avon, North Carolina and yesterday it made it through the eye of Hurricane Dorian with eyewall winds in both directions, reported up to 98 mph in my neighborhood. I used gray PVC underground conduit to resist lightning and UV rays, and stuffed the 1" pipe in a 1.25" pipe to strengthen it and reduce vibration. It worked great.

Having real-time hyper-local wind speed, UV, and air temperature (air not shown) at the beach is a wonderful thing
WeatherFlow’s marketing team needs to spend less time in the office and more time at the beach, because the number of “What the heck is that?” questions I got followed by subsequent interest in the product was quite remarkable!
All I need is a small floating buoy probe that I can slap a fishing weight on to measure H2O temperature, and life is complete!
