Here is my new installation, using a Weather Vane Mount and vinyl Wood closet pole that I cut in half
Oops, I also meant to say that it is a outdoor wooden Flag Pole not closet pole!!

@ [monty.ericson] - nifty idea with connecting another pole onto the RBI 4G pole - where did you source the brackets and pole from? Mitre 10? Bunnings?
Can’t wait to receive my Tempest (hopefully May) and install alongside my Davis 6163, and connect into Weather Display.

In Australia Bunnings have this narrow pipe which I attached to some old scaffold pipe with some old temporary fence connectors I had lying around my spares.
I do like the brackets @monty.ericson used so I am also interested in his response.

I used 10’ of 2" PVC pipe on the outside to mount my Tempest. Then I used 1 1/2" pipe filled with sand. In addition, I 3D printed some rings so that the inner pipe fits tightly inside the outer pipe. I have my old Sky mounted on a 2" galvanized pipe. Even in strong winds I see no perceptible movement with either unit.

Hi. I got mine from Amazon. It was a Wilson Electronics 901117 Mount.
I’m going to order the Tempest product, and I like this installation method - relatively inexpensive, strong / solid anchoring. My biggest concern would be the effect of heat emitting from burning a fire in the fireplace during the winter months. Further, what would be the best method of grounding a galvanized mounting pole? Oops! I thought I was sending this question to person who showed his chimney mounting scheme picture and didn’t realise this would be for general consumption. Sorry, I’m still learning this messaging system.
In my case, if there is any wind at all, I don’t see any effect on the Tempest. I have just heat from my 60+ year old gas furnace. I do see that the temperature and relative humidity (and thus dew point) are effected on very calm days. I haven’t been able to notice a change in wind, however. I wouldn’t use too short of a pole. Mine are 8 feet long and extend about 6 feet above the top of the chimney.
Furnace vent is on the far left. Tempest is the one on the right with the SKY to its left.

@ershler Please explain your 2" PVC pipe to mount your Tempest. I was understanding that Tempest needed a 1.25" to 1.31" OD PVC upon which to mount it. Thanks…
He describes an adapter setup to hold the smaller pipe.
The top of the 2” PVC has an cap with a hole in it. On the top end of the
inside pipe is an adapter to a smaller piece of PVC, that just fits in the mount on the Tempest.
However, the whole idea is not working as well as I had hoped. The whole rig is leaning somewhat. The fact that ultrasonic wind sensor is not sitting “flat” is causing the wind speed to be too low when compared with the old SKY. I am going to use some guy wires to straighten it up.
