Soil Moisture Sensor

I would like a soil moisture sensor similar to what Ambient Weather offers.

I also would love this… Will weatherflow have something like this or similarly to ambient’s?

This seems like something that would tie in really well with your shiny new Rachio integration… :joy:

Completely agree. Seems like the collaboration with Rachio makes these inevitable (hopefully).

A paired soil moisture sensor would be a great addition to the system. If the App could calculate soil moisture deficit even better. The ability to add a user offset to the moisture deficit to suit the type of garden you have, even better.

Absolutely essential with Rachio integration. I would suggest the ability to read multiple (5-10) wireless soil moisture sensors that could be associated with Rachio watering zones.

I totally agree, with Solar for recharging battery.

Would be great. Hope the wiring would be far easier than the Davis stations. I had a Davis EnviroMonitor Node with a Soil Moisture Sensor, That thing was a pain to wire in and had trouble getting it to register properly. Also, Mobilize could show wet/dry conditions from the sensor but not push alerts telling us when we needed to water (which was a glaring omission). The alerts would be super-useful.

Leaf Wetness sensor would be good too.

Tempest could also offer a cellular option for Tempest One/enterprise/agriculture customers in places without Wi-Fi.

Davis Mobilize was doing Crop and Pest Management, but development has pretty much stalled on it. Might be a good feature in a variant of Tempest One for agriculture.

They already do. TempestOne Cellular Hub
