Did we ever get a resolution to this? I had a nice 42 MPH wind gust the other day outside of a tornado down the road but WU shows it as 21 (guessing avg). I’d really like the wind to be accurate on that station since they are keeping historical data. I know the whole ordeal behind WU, Weather Channel, IBM, as I’ve been doing this for a long time but it’s still the most referred to site.
So bottom line, can we change the rapid fire setting on our WF console or somewhere else?
Has this ever been resolved (e.g. Weather Underground RapidFire updates from Weatherflow). I just set up my station to report to WU but I am only seeing odd data intervals on the WU website with no RapidFire updates for the wind data.
Can’t find the post but from what I remember rapid fire was abandoned by WU. Just had a look again on my station with WU (just for the sake of testing, I don’t use them) and that option isn’t available to me.
If you guys haven’t tried out Weathersnoop, it reports to WU as quick as every 5 seconds but you can decide how quick it uploads. Only issues: it reports the “station pressure” not SLP, and does not report precipitation amounts to WU. So if you are okay with that it’s a good PWS to try out for rapid fire updates to WU @eric
