I’ve been having some hour-long outages on the app and through the websocket API. Hub uptimes have been random and a couple of hours.
I coded up a simple python console program to display all the hub UDP broadcast messages. Of course now it seems a bit more stable.
The reset status of PIN,SFT,HRDFLT looks a bit ominous though
Hub: HB-00071006 v194
Station ID: 70138
Device: ST-00140225 v181
Station ID: 1216772
Have you tried it with a different USB power supply yet???
I will try that today. I have another Tempest USB power supply from another hub that bootloops ( Serial port output shows unreadable firmware )
I hope I don’t have to replace this hub because the Tempest is 75ft up a tower so I can’t get it into pairing mode.
Changing the USB wall-wart seems to have improved things: 3 days of uptime and the regular reset messages.
Looking though connection issue posts here I rather think it was not the USB power supply. I think it was the WiFi access point band steering problem. The usual AP has 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands with the same SSID. I changed to a 2.4Ghz only access point 4 days ago and have not had a single disconnect.
For the benefit of others, can you share the make/model of wifi access point that may have connection-stability problems???
