Hi, I recently installed a tempest station and hub. The charge is over 2.71V, but it remains in Eco mode. Is there something I need to/can do to make it come out of Eco mode?
Thank you!

I assume that by Eco mode you mean the wind isn’t updating every three seconds. If powering it off and back on doesn’t fix it, then open a support ticket using the link at the top of the page.
If you provide your station ID or the link to your station others on the forum can take a look. To get the link to your station just click the share icon in the app or on the web page for your station.
Right, it also says that it’s running in Eco mode on the status screen.
There’s the link, thank you for your help.
This sounds like the issue reported at https://community.tempest.earth/t/tempest-on-eco-mode-power-save-mode-after-device-firmware-update-to-version-175/24186 . That thread says the problem seems to have been introduced with Tempest firmware version 175 and fixed by 176. I advise contacting support and requesting a firmware upgrade.
Ah okay, thank you. I just sent in the request.
For my notes. . .I have the following. . .
. . .Power Save Modes. . .
Tempest devices on Firmware version 175 and newer have a new dynamic wind sampling power save feature. This replaces the power save modes described below. The power save feature will activate when the battery gets below 2.65v, denoted by and Eco battery state.
The three dynamic wind sampling rates are:
3 second wind sampling , speed (max gust over last 1 minute) is > 10 mph
6 second wind sampling, 5 mph < speed < or = 10 mph
15 second wind sampling, 0 mph < or = speed < or = 5 mph
For Tempest devices NOT on Firmware Revision v175 and newer, here are details on how the Tempest may conserve power in order to operate for as long as possible. Most Tempest devices will never go below Mode 0 and more than 90% will never go below Mode 1.
Mode 0: Voltage > or = 2.455v
All sensors enabled and operating at full performance
Wind sampling interval every 3 seconds
Mode 1: Voltage < 2.415v from Mode 0 or > 2.41v from Mode 2
Wind sampling interval set to 6 seconds
Mode 2: Voltage < 2.39v from Mode 1 or > 2.375v from Mode 3
Wind sampling interval set to one minute
Mode 3: Voltage < 2.355v
Wind sampling interval set to 5 minutes
All other sensors’ sampling interval set to 5 minutes
Haptic Rain sensor disabled from active listening
Thank you. I installed the power booster module, and it’s connected to 120VAC and still in power save mode. I haven’t heard back from my request to update the firmware. Hopefully they get to it soon. These things are aren’t cheap, especially when you add the Power Boost Accessory to it.
Do I need the 175 firmware? My Hub is on 194 and my Tempest is on 165
Craig…since your ST-00062480 has FWR (FirmWareRevision) v165 on it. . .I checked the rapid wind and yours is updating every15 seconds because the battery voltage is at 2.60v (Battery State = Good). So it looks like (to me) that even though ST-62480 is on FWR=v165. . .it is being treated as IF it were on FWR=v175 or v176. IF you open a support ticket and ask that ST-62480 receive a FW update. . .the latest “running” “Street Version” of the Firmware IS v181.
But since your ST is still on v165. . .I am not seeing the “Eco” battery state via “Online” at the very bottom right-hand portion of the /station/15419/grid page. IF there were to be an “Eco” designator it would probably be visible on Your App. . .connected to your network situation.
Support updated my firmware from version 175 to 181. All is good now! Thanks for the help!
